My Background

When I worked in the NHS I saw how so many people didn’t know what was happening to their body in labour, and this lead to them feeling scared and unable to make the right decisions for them. From this Midwife for Life was born! My mission is to empower everyone on their pregnancy journey and allow them to embrace their experience. Pregnancy is such a special time and it shouldn’t be overshadowed by feelings of anxiety and fear.

So, what’s with the name? Well, let me explain. In Sweden a midwife looks after women from puberty all the way through to menopause. Acting as a support through all those life changes. This is what I want to do, focus on support you through these times of change.

My Story

Hey lovely!

It’s so great to see you here, investing time in you and your pregnancy.

My name is Rachael – midwife, hypnobirthing teacher, and your biggest cheerleader.

I have always been fascinated by pregnancy and my goal is to empower everyone to have a positive pregnancy and birth experience.

Once I qualified as a midwife I worked in the NHS but I quickly became frustrated with the lack of time I had to spend time with individuals. I decided to branch out on my own back in 2017 and I haven’t looked back.

Now I am proud to be a specialist antenatal education midwife offering a range of services and complementary therapies. My primary focus is on providing holistic, individualised support to you and your growing family.

Mix together my midwifery knowledge and skills with my burning passion to give pregnant people holistic support and options often not available in our amazing NHS, and you have Midwife for Life.

Together we will come up with a support package to support you on this amazing journey you are on.

Maybe you’re feeling anxious about your up coming birth. Maybe you want time to connect with your bump and prepare for a baby. Maybe you’ve had a negative birth experience and need the time and support to mentally heal. Whatever your story, I am here for you, not just physically but emotionally and psychologically.

My qualifications:

  • BSc(Hons) Midwifery

  • Diploma in Midwifery Complementary Therapies

  • KGHypnobirthing Practitioner

  • International Association of Infant Massage Instructor

  • Unicef Baby Friendly

  • Traumatic Birth Recovery Practitioner

  • Level 2 Counselling Skills
